I chose this picture as a symbol for my champion of justice, Irene Fernandez. As this picture shows, Irene Fernandez is a "helping hand." Irene Fernandez works on stopping the violence and abuses against the poor people: Farmers, migrants, domestic workers, prostitutes, AIDS sufferers are all people she looks after. She even founded an organization called "Tenaganita" in 1991, which campaigns for the rights of the foriegn workers. Tenaganita also runs a half-way house for prostitutes with HIV and numerous programmes relating to migrant and poor workers' health, education, awareness and human rights.
